Austin Energy Report

Renewable energy up in ERCOT – Electricity generated throughout ERCOT from renewable energy resources was up 7 percent in 2012 compared to 2011. In all, of the 324.9 million MWh of electricity consumed during 2012 in ERCOT, some 31.7 million or about 9 percent came from renewable resources. While wind provides most of the renewable energy in Texas by volume, solar-generated power increased by almost 300 percent and biomass by more than 100 percent.
